[Video] Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 & S4 MK2 Announced!
Native Instruments just slashed prices on the Traktor Kontrol S2 and S4 and continued the promotion "until supplies lasted". NI has finally finished off its inventory of S2 and S4 controllers to make way for the new Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 and the Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 Digital DJ controllers which were just announced today! The new controllers boast improvements to the original designs by adding multi-color hotcue/remix deck pads, hi-res aluminum metal plate jog wheels, FLUX mode buttons, and Traktor DJ iOS compatibility.
The original S2 and S4 DJ controllers were the perfect 2-channel and 4-channel mixing consoles for the Traktor software. Now that the Traktor software has seen lots of new updates and features since the release of the original S2 and S4, it's only natural that NI gives its users new controller interfaces to access the new advanced features such as remix decks controls and FLUX mode.

The new Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 is the new 2+1 deck Digital DJ controller for Traktor that controls two decks simultaneously, while the S4 MK2 is the new 4+1 deck Digital DJ controller to control up to four decks at a time. All of the original features of the S2 and S4 are still present in the new MK2 editions including the internal Traktor DVS soundcard which resides inside the S4 MK2. Some of the new updates to both new controllers will include new RGB Multi-color backlit buttons for Cue points and remix deck control, upgraded hi-res aluminum metal plate jog wheels, Flux mode buttons, and plug and play compatibility with the Traktor DJ iOS app. There is also a hint of better construction overall with more "reinforcement" for the knobs and chassis. Both controllers will now be able to access the Remix Decks using the on-board controls as well.
The S4 MK2 also has a few features that the S2 MK2 does not have. The S4 MK2 has an additional four Remix Deck start/stop buttons and oversized high/low Pass Filter knobs above each line fader to give users slightly more control than the S2 MK2 can provide. The S4 MK2 also contains additional loop counter LED windows (similar to the X1 MK2 and Z2) right above the autoloop encoder knobs which shows the user the beat frequency of the current loop. the S4 MK2 also has a new Booth output and volume knob for those who want to monitor the mix while simultaneously playing the music through the master output.
Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2
Just as with the original Traktor Kontrol S2 and S4, the new MK2 editions come bundled with the FULL Traktor Pro 2 software right in the box which is a HUGE plus in today's saturated controller market where most controllers come with a lite version of a DJ software. The Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 will be available later this month for only $799, while the S2 MK2 will be available for only $499. I'll be sure to get them both in the lab for a full HD-Video and written review ASAP...Check out the quick video and press release below for more information.
