Serato DJ software was just announced today and with it came the announcement of its newest and first official DJ controller called the Pioneer DDJ-SX. The new Pioneer DDJ-SX looks to be one of the most professional-grade DJ controllers from Pioneer to-date with a brushed metal chassis and heavy duty appearance. The DDJ-SX will be very tightly integrated with the Serato DJ software and below each jog wheel there are (8) velocity-sensitive performance pads that can be used for Cue-points, Loop Rolls, Slicer, and the SP-6, similar to the way Vestax VCI-380 does it today with Serato ITCH. Our good friends over at Pioneer DJ spent some time with DJ Blakey in late 2012 in order to get him familiar with the Pioneer DDJ-SX when it was originally announced. The Pioneer DDJ-SX is still one of the best DJ controllers out on the market today for the full Serato DJ software and there is also a new mapping to use the controller with Traktor Pro 2. The folks over at Serato DJ spent some time with Nick Hook to talk shop and to get busy on the Pioneer DDJ-SX with some cool Trap style mixing. The Pioneer DDJ-SX is still the premier DJ controller for the full Serato DJ software and to date it still offers the most control over the extensive features in the Serato DJ software.

Pioneer DJ has announced that there is a brand new Serato DJ controller coming out next month called the Pioneer DDJ-SX2. The DDJ-SX2 is a new version of the ever-popular DDJ-SX which we reviewed when it was released almost two years ago. The new Pioneer DDJ-SX2 inherits all of the features of the original and adds multi-color RGB backlit Performance pads, hotcue markers on the jog wheel display, Serato Flip controls, and it is Serato DJ DVS compatible right out of the box.

The popular Pioneer DJ RMX-1000 effect station for DJ's is now offered in a Pearl White edition. Pioneer DJ has been releasing white editions of almost all of their DJ gear including mixers, headphones, and CDJ's and now the RMX-1000 is getting the same treatment. The RMX-1000-W will have the same cool features as the original but sports this nice new finish to appease DJ's who adopt this new color scheme. The Pioneer DDJ-S1 was released back in 2011 and was designed to work with perfectly Serato Itch. We reviewed the controller and found it to be a great DJ control surface for Serato software DJ's. Now that Serato Itch software has been replaced by Serato DJ with a better layout and new features, the DDJ-S1 owners can now reap the benefits by downloading the new firmware and Free Serato DJ upgrade to get the full use out of their controller.
