Johnny Phrank - Dirty Diana
- Artist: Johnny Phrank
- Track: Dirty Diana
- Producer: Willie B
Upon it's release in 1988, Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana was a huge commercial success, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 among several charting and placement accomplishments. 17 years later, the song title has resurfaced with alt-R&B artist Jonnny Phrank's new single. Producer Willie B, best known for his work with Kendrick Lamar, doesn't incorporate any elements of MJ's original into the Nashville native's latest work, and while the record is nowhere near as catchy, the sentiment behind the release (June 25 was the sixth anniversary of MJ's death) is felt and should be appreciated. For more from Phrank, we recommend his Flight Risk album, released in 2014.
