Tyrese - Shame ft. Jennifer Hudson

DJBooth_logo2x

Over the last few years, we have seen the lines between hip-hop and R&B become increasingly blurred and abstract. To many, traditional R&B has become somewhat of a lost art form. The fact is, songs about love, loss, and pain are just not as common as they used to be. In Shame, the latest video and single from Black Rose, the sixth solo album from Tyrese, listeners get the chance to hear remnants of the Golden Age of R&B. As the veteran singer croons over live instrumentation, in the most soulful way possible he expresses regret and repentance for his past mistakes. Additional vocals from Jennifer Hudson provide an excellent layer of emotion as well. Soulful, musical, and honest, Shame is a solid record that captures the veteran artist in his most vulnerable state. It doesn't disappoint.
