A-Trak x Cam'ron - Humphrey

  • Artist: A-Trak
  • Track: Humphrey
  • Feat. Cam'ron
  • Producer: A-Trak, Party Supplies
  • Album: Federal Reserve EP

Harlem rap veteran Cam'ron's been absent from the Booth for a hot minute (his Ghetto Heaven V1 tape hit our front page back in October), as has Canadian DJ/producer A-Trak. Today, they both return to give us what the game's been missing, in the form of new single Humphrey. The inaugural release off a full-blown collaborative EP, this joint finds A-Trak harking back to the soulful sound of Cam's best-known jams. Over his partner's bouncy, vocal-laced samples, Killa comes with that bugged-out lyricism fans have come to know and love. In addition to his trademark off-the-wall block talk, he offers a little insight into his early life: “My parents got high, no lie, it's no shame / A product of dust, lust and cocaine.” Trak jumps behind the wheels of steel on the outro, which features vocal snippets from several classic cuts by Dipset affiliates. Federal Reserve currently lacks a drop date, but we'll keep you posted on the project as further details emerge.
