Straight off DJ Whiteowl’s brand new RNB Pt. 53, Akon offers up the vulnerable, yet powerful new ballad, Come Back 2 Me. One of two new Akon songs to surface since the beginning of 2008, the four-time Grammy nominee begs the love of his life to return after he wakes up to discover she has left him. Using multiple vocal layers and a beautiful piano-synth beat (oddly similar to the Backstreet Boys hit, More Than That), Kon extends his singing range and displays his pipes for the world to hear. Though no official word has come from his label, Billboard's 2007 'Artist of the Year' tentatively plans to release a new album sometime later this year.
