Amanda Diva - Rebels
- Artist: Amanda Diva
- Track: Rebels
- Producer: Kovas
- Album: Spandex, Rhymes & Soul EP
Last we heard from Amanda Diva, she was playing second fiddle to Unauthorized Biography Series emcee Shaun Boothe on mixtape cut Music Man. While her mellow, melodic guest verse didn't disappoint, those who remember her first Booth feature, Supa Woman, know that there's much more to the NYC native than a pretty singing voice. Off her forthcoming Spandex, Rhymes, & Soul EP, Rebels will undoubtedly yield another round of Lauryn Hill comparisons, and understandably so – her vocal tone is certainly similar, and she shows the same knack for transitioning seamlessly between a rapid-fire verse and a full-voiced, soulful chorus. Brooklyn's Kovas (who showcased his skills on the mic on previously-featured cuts Go That Route and Wax On Wax Off ) rounds out the record with his subtly-textured, piano-driven production. Spandex, Rhymes & Soul is scheduled to hit stores this March.
