In the summer of 2008, Rick Ross released his Drumma Boy-produced single Here I Am. Although the record only peaked at #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 it served as a mainstream introduction to Deerty Ent/Universal Motown recording artist Avery Storm. Now, almost two years later, Ross has returned the feature favor by appearing on Storm's official debut single, Not Like My Girl. Produced by Orlando production duo The Runners (see Fed Up, Overtime), Not Like My Girl finds Storm singing in his own traditionally nontraditional style about the love of his life and why nobody besides her has ever been able to capture his heart. The idea of not knowing how good something is until it's gone has been the theme of many an R&B record but, with its uptempo beat and a solid guest 16, Not Like My Girl delivers in a completely new way. Can't wait for the release of Storm's long-delayed debut, Shotgun Love? We suggest (if you haven't already) you download the Green Lantern and Scram Jones-hosted Category 5 mixtape or the New Jersey native's most-recent release, the The Heatmakerz collaborative project Diary of the Takeoff.
