Bambu ft. Chace Infinite - Paper Thin
- Artist: Bambu
- Track: Paper Thin
- Feat. Chace Infinite
- Producer: Anon
- Album: ...paper thin... EP
There are few social issues that affect inner-city dwellers more directly than urban gentrification, the process by which wealthier individuals muscle low-income residents out of a neighborhood. On Paper Thin, one-half of his new maxi-single, Correctly Done emcee Bambu and Self Scientific member Chace Infinite (recently heard on 1982's The Darkest Cloud) offer 'hood residents a radical solution: when you're feeling marginalized and beaten down, hit back! Rather than crafting an instrumental as aggressive as the subject matter would suggest, Anon takes a more left-of-center approach, delivering a shifty blend of bouncy bass, piano and... is that accordion? Whether or not you believe the desperate measures described here are justified, Bambu and Chace make a compelling case against complacency; as the headliner emphasizes in the jazzy outro, positive vibes are no substitute for action.
