- Artist: Bambu
- Track: Rent Money
- Producer: CHOPS
- Album: ...One Rifle Per Family
While far less talented rhymesayers are saving up for their third yacht, Bambu is hustling overtime for that Rent Money. Rather than switching up his style to appeal to the powers that be, however, the Watts-resident rhymesayer is working undercover to change the political system that ensures the bulk of the global population has to struggle in order to stay alive. A call to arms disguised as a paper-stacking trunk-banger, this jam sees CHOPS cooking up a bass-heavy backdrop for the headliner's radical rhetoric, as well as that of fellow Filipino-American emcee Rocky Rivera. Director Jordan Ching packs his official video with subliminal messages, depicting American and Third World kids toting autobiographies of Che Guevara and copies of MacKenzie Wark's A Hacker Manifesto. Has this irreverent, politically-charged jam left you craving more? Released this Tuesday via Beatrock Music, the artist's ...One Rifle Per Family LP is available now for purchase via iTunes.
