Cocaine 80s — "Fly Ass Pisces" ft. Jhené Aiko Aiko & Common

DJBooth_logo2x

If their group name didn't tip you off, Cocaine 80s are big fans of that fishscale—and not just when it comes to their powder. As the No I.D.-fronted collective reveal on EP standout "Fly Ass Pisces," their ideal woman strongly resembles Ariel from The Little Mermaid. The aforementioned Windy City beatmaker creates an instrumental backdrop befitting a beachside romance, layering mellow guitar riffs and glittering keyboard over a low-key, yet driving rhythm section as house lyricist Common pays tribute to a “fisherman's daughter” who had him hook, line and sinker from the moment they first met. Def Jam recording artist Jhené Aiko plays the aquatic beauty in question on the record's chorus.
