  • Producer: Ski
  • Album: Higher Than 30,000 Feet (Spitta's Big Vacation) Mixtape

When rapper Curren$y left No Limit Records for Lil' Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, he thought brighter days would be ahead for sure. Unfortunately, as we’ve confirmed numerous times on DJBooth, sometimes the best-laid plans never come to pass and Curren$y’s debut album, Music to Fly To, was shelved. Frustrated, the New Orleans native has since jumped ship, but currently is enjoying his independent status with his Fly Society label, who will release his forthcoming mixtape Higher Than 30,000 Feet. Listeners will forget Curren$y’s from the Dirty South after one listen to his version of Jay-Z's Feelin' It (the fourth and final single from Hova's classic debut, Reasonable Doubt), as he exhibits a perfect East Coast style over a hook from Mecca and an instrumental from producer Ski.
