- Artist: Dag Savage
- Track: Twilight
- Producer: Exile
- Album: The Dag Savage EP
No, Dag Savage haven’t developed a sudden affection for brooding werewolves and sparkle vampires. The inaugural song release off the Milk Box duo’s forthcoming, almost-self titled EP, Twilight instead draws inspiration, as well as its central sample, from The Platters’ classic doo-wop rendition of My Prayer. Exile‘s haunting production sets the stage for some appropriately dark lyricism from mic-rocking partner Johaz, who touches upon urban poverty, the execution of Crips founder Tookie Williams, the corruption of the hip-hop industry and other sobering topics in his incisive bars. Featuring this cut, three other brand new tracks, and a handful of fresh remixes, The Dag Savage EP is scheduled for release January 15, both as a digital download and a limited-edition vinyl 12”.
