Demrick - SMOKE
- Artist: Demrick
- Track: SMOKE
- Producer: Jim Jonsin
- Album: All The Wrong Things 2
The latest cut from Demrick, formerly known around The DJBooth as Young De, might be a smoking song, but it certainly isn’t your typical kush anthem. Whereas most chiefing cuts are laid-back, SMOKE bucks the trend, emitting a much more edgy, intense vibe, in part because of producer Jim Jonsin’s coarse, siren-infused boardwork. Instead of worrying about which brand of chips will appease his munchies, Demrick uses a gritty, intense flow to focus on both his struggle to survive and make ends meat. As the emcee will tell you, smoking isn’t a way for him to have a good time, it’s a source of release from the daily stresses he encounters. SMOKE is a single off of the smoldering emcee's forthcoming mixtape, All The Wrong Things 2, set to drop February 11.
