denitia and sene - divided.

As their stellar slate of collaborative Booth features attests, Brooklyn rapper/producer Sene and singer/songwriter Denitia Odigie make one hell of a team. But they haven't stepped into the Booth with a joint feature since March of 2013—what gives? On their latest single, released as part of the Red Bull Sound Select series, they pose a similar question: “Why were we divided. at all?” (OK, the lyrics pertain to a romantic relationship rather than a professional one, but either way it works.) Christian Rich, the producers behind Thurz's previously-featured Sound Select contribution, High Castle, reprise their role behind the mixing boards. Over the fraternal twosome's atmospheric synths, Denitia cryptically addresses an ex, wondering whether the decision to split up was the right one. Sene plays the background, contributing falsetto vocals to the record's bridge. The collaborators don't, to our knowledge, have any larger projects in the works, but fans can keep it locked for updates on their plans, as well as future highlights in Red Bull's ongoing series.

Update: We have added the Joel Kefali-directed visuals for denitia and sene's divided. single.
