Denzel Curry ft. Yung Simmie & Robb Bank$ - Threatz

DJBooth_logo2x
  • Artist: Denzel Curry
  • Track: Threatz
  • Producer: Ronny J
  • Album: Nostalgic 64

Although Denzel Curry, Yung Simmie and Robb Bank$“don’t take kindly to threats,” we'd like more music or else! Normally, I am partial to boom-bap/jazzy hip-hop, but Curry’s energetic, trap-inspired Threatz is too good to be ignored due to a sub-genre. Curry’s attitude fueled flow slices through the hazy, trap infused beat (thank you, Ronnie J) like Jason Voorhees through an unsuspecting teen. Not to be out done, Simmie and Bank$ (the latter batting clean-up), echo Curry’s sentiments with equally as virulent bars and caustic flows. The oddly colorful video, featuring the emcees and their crew going HAM at an abandoned military base in Florida, only adds to the mysterious aura behind the song and should make anyone who thinks they are all talk think twice. Threatz serves as Curry's Booth debut and is the first set of visuals off his Nostalgic 64 project, which is "coming soon."
