Dub MD ft. Cymarshall Law, 8thW1, Genesis Elijah & Daniel Joseph - Road to Sedgwick Ave.

It's hard to pinpoint the beginning of such a complex phenomenon as hip-hop, but many trace the roots of the genre back to an August 1973 party at 1520 Sedgwick Ave. in the Bronx, where DJ Kool Herc began to entertain community members with his skills behind the wheels of steel. On his first solo DJBooth feature, Road to Sedgwick Ave, DJ Dub MD and four of his most talented homies make a pilgrimage to that historic site. In between thematically-appropriate samples flipped by T.Dragonette, Jersey emcees Cymarshall Law, 8thW1 and Daniel Joseph and UK rhymesayer Genesis Elijah reflect on the course hip-hop has taken since its inception in the Nixon years. Dub's long-awaited debut EP, Requiem, as yet lacks a drop date, but fans can, of course, keep it locked for all the latest on the forthcoming set.
