Elijah Blake ft. J. Cole - Vendetta
- Artist: Elijah Blake
- Track: Vendetta
- Feat. J. Cole
- Producer: J. Cole
- Album: Songs About Melody
Absent from our front page since bringing down the house with December 2012's Common-assisted X.O.X., Elijah Blake is back to (finally) kick off his 2013 with Vendetta, the second single off his forthcoming full-length. The follow-up to June's non-featured Drop Dead Beautiful, this jam finds the Def Jam signee scheming to get an ex back in his life. Over J. Cole's stark, percussion-driven instrumental, the singer reveals just how deeply her departure has cut him, crooning, “I love you baby, more than my own life.” Jermaine jumps out from behind the boards on the back, juxtaposing his fickle approach to romance against the headliner's obsessive mindset. This cut is slated to appear on Elijah's forthcoming, currently-unscheduled Songs About Melody LP. Cole fans can, of course, hear more from the Roc Nation heavyweight on sophomore LP Born Sinner, out as of June 18.
