Ghostwridah - The American Dream
- Artist: GhostWridah
- Track: The American Dream
- Producer: Lowkey
- Album: American Alien
On an unreleased cut premiered in the Booth earlier this week, Island-pop twosome Rock City shared their vision of the American Dream--a dream which bore a greater resemblance to Charlie Sheen than Horatio Alger. Whereas Da Spokesman and Don't Talk Much were more than happy to join in the ridiculousness of celebrity culture, Ghostwridah is a little less impressed with the state of the union, as he makes clear on the latest single off spring American Alien album. While The American Dream was originally released back in April, the concerns the Miami repper expresses here have only become more central in the months since; backed by Lowkey's slow-burning, piano-led boardwork, the freestyle alum mixes personal gripes (i.e., haters) with meditations on such urgent issues as job loss and the increasing unmanageability of the nation's wars. Has this thought-provoking cut left you hungry for more? In addition to copping Ghost's Booth-sponsored street album, fans can peep this cut's official video here.
