This past Sunday, Drumma Boy dropped Welcome II My City, a mixtape that, in addition to introducing the industry to the roster of his new Drum Squad label, marked the superproducer's debut as a rapper. This cut, however, finds Drumma sticking with what he's best known for. On the official remix of Gucci Mane's Never Too Much, Drumma demonstrates his talent for pairing big names with their sidekicks, enlisting the services of Three 6 Mafia & Project Pat, Gucci & OJ Da Juiceman, and Yung Joc & ...nobody else (Gorilla Zoe likely had other obligations).  It's not often that a brief "beat-bridge" becomes the highlight of a record, yet Drumma Boy's old-school sample of Luther Vandross' classic of the same name is inarguably a standout moment (is there something in Memphis' water that breeds interpolation skill?).  If any listeners walk away from the mixtape thinking that he (like many other producer/rappers) should stick to the boards, they'll undoubtedly cite Never Too Much (Remix) as a case in point.
