As the December 16 street date for Foxx’s new album, Intuition, rapidly approaches, it sounds as though the album’s leading record might have some company at the top of the charts. With assistance from producer Just Blaze, who samples the Beastie Boys' The New Style, and Lil Wayne, who seems poised to repeat his ‘07 in ‘09 by re-flooding the music market with feature work, Foxx delivers the club-ready jam, Get Dumb (Number One). This lighthearted record is highlighted by a relatively simple bass line, which includes a clap-track chorus, and Foxx’s ability to rap and croon interchangeably. While it’s too early to predict whether Get Dumb will land at Number One, listeners will undoubtedly Get Dumb to Number One.
