Kendrick Lamar may be the Top Dawg at TDE, but newer fans of the west coast label and their movement should be reminded that the first TDE emcee to catch a break was Jay Rock. Formerly signed to deals at both Warner Bros. and Strange Music, the Watts native has been a relatively forgotten man over the last two years, but it appears things are about to change. If you don't believe us, like guest vocalist Chantal sings on the chorus of his latest single, you will Pay For It. Following Parental Advisory, which has earned a nearly-flawless 5.0 rating from our readers, the Black Hippy member delivers a poignant new effort, one which features his more esteemed labelmate, but with two stellar verses he isn't outdone or outshined. There isn't an announced title or release date for a new, full-length Jay Rock album, but it certainly feels like one is on the horizon.
