  • Producer: Jaymes Young, Carlos de la Garza
  • Album: Habits of My Heart EP

As fall deepens and the mercury slowly but surely falls, Jaymes Young's girl's feelings for him have also begun to wane. On his latest single, What Should I Do, the Atlantic Records recording artist comes up with an ingenious way to deal with the cold weather and his failing relationship all at once: arson. No, really. Backed by his and Carlos de la Garza's atmospheric synth boardwork, he threatens, “I'll set the house on fire and watch it burn down if you go away.” Questionable coping strategies aside, this joint has the same moody appeal that drew Boothgoers to Young's previous features. You can find What Should I Do and much more on the Habits of My Heart EP, set to it record stores and online retailers next Tuesday, September 30.
