Kendrick Lamar ft. Gucci Mane - Vanity Slave (Pt. 2)
- Artist: Kendrick Lamar
- Track: Vanity Slave (Pt. 2)
- Feat. Gucci Mane
- Producer: Soundwave
- Album: TBD
Kendrick Lamar has always stood up for what he believes and has always been able to deliver that statement in his rhymes. So with the second part of Vanity Slave released today, Kendrick, with the help of Gucci Mane and producer Sounwave, hope to expand on the anti-materialism message he first laid out on his Kendrick Lamar (FreEp). With a very mellow and soft instrumental the DJBooth Freestyle alum shows his lyrical game is only getting better, rapping about the contradictions he feels in himself, and sees in the world around him. It may seem like an odd topic for a Gucci Mane feature, but Gucci only contributes a couple of lines, and of course his world famous ad-libs. Instead, controversy is stirring around the song’s Lil B references (“Woots,” “Word around town,” etc.). Although Kendrick has taken some slack for it, he proudly backed up B on Twitter, saying he is down with The BasedGod. With influences and features like that, there’s no telling who will show up on the Dr. Dre co-signed rapper’s next project, which currently has neither a title or release date.
