Upon reading the title of K.I.N.E.T.I.K.‘s DJBooth debut, my first thought was how dope it would be to watch a Muppet Babies-style Saturday morning cartoon starring toddler-aged versions of KRS-One, DJ Premier and other hip-hop icons. Network execs, drop me a line and we will make this happen. My overactive imagination aside, listeners who came up amid the dope beats and intricate bars of late-’80s/early-’90s rap are sure to find album standout Boom Bap Babies an enjoyable blast from the past. Kuroisoul mans the boards, serving up a funky, sampled groove as the UK rhymesayer recounts his lifelong love affair with the hip-hop music, fashion and culture. On the hook, DJ Jazz T breaks out the turntables to scratch on a few old-school samples. You can find this throwback banger and much more on K.I.N.E.T.I.K.’s Hip Hop Is Forever LP, released this Tuesday and available now for digital purchase via Bandcamp.
