  • Feat. Slaughterhouse
  • Producer: Mr. Porter
  • Album: Fast Five Soundtrack

Scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on the 29th, the fifth entry in the Fast and the Furious franchise promises to be the fastest and most furious yet. OK, to keep it one-hundred, I haven't seen a single F&F flick... but, hey, the poster looks pretty cool. And more to the point, any film that inspires the kinds of high-velocity rhymes found on standout soundtrack inclusion F5 (Furiously Dangerous) is a blockbuster in my book. Here, a scorching synth-percussion beat by Mr. Porter sets the mood for rhymes from five of the finest flows in the industry. Ludacris heads off the pack, lacing the opener with his trademark racy wit (“Lot of green with a yellow complexion / women call me the Green Bay Packer”). Slaughterhouse cohorts Royce, Budden, Joell and Crook pick up right where Luda leaves off, peeling out one by one to to showcase their most devastating flows. Singer Claret Jai rounds out the lineup, contributing the most piercing chorus vocals this side of Rebecca Black's Friday – whether her unique approach adds to the catchiness or derails the cut, I leave for you to decide. In any case, those digging it can find F5 and much more on the movie's soundtrack LP, due out May 5.
