Maino - Be Me

  • Artist: Maino
  • Track: Be Me
  • Producer: Nard & B
  • Album: If Tomorrow Comes...

It’s a classic piece of advice: just be yourself. And in his song, Be Me, Brooklyn rapper Maino wants to let the world know that he can’t be anybody else but himself. In fact, he wants everyone to know that he’s not Jay-Z, Kanye, Common or even Outkast (and he isn’t trying to be). Off his forthcoming (and long-delayed) debut If Tomorrow Comes… , set for release this September, the Nard & B produced single includes a long lists of rappers (along with Akon), who Maino also eagerly claims to be nothing like. Take it how you want (that he’s either claiming to worse or better than all the artists he calls out), but don’t expect this honest rapper to ever “emulate another man.”
