Marty Grimes's last feature, August's Still Floatin', saw him departing from the bombastic, street-oriented sound of Booth debut See Me Now to offer something more atmospheric and introspective. It's back in the whip, however, for feature numero tres, a larger-than life jam the Berkeley repper calls “a representation of what to expect for future releases.” On Say It Ain't So, a trap-tinged SykSense beat accompanies bold and arrogant bars from Grimes, as well as from Rexx Life Raj, the headliner's childhood friend and fellow Cali repper. This record is just a loosie but, rest assured, we'll keep you posted as we learn more about Marty Grimes's plans.
