This past Tuesday, September 13, DJ Mehdi was killed when the roof of his Paris home (where he was celebrating a friend’s birthday) collapsed. In honor of the French/Tunisian hip-hop/electro heavyweight’s life and achievements, Mickey Factz has unearthed a previously-unreleased collaboration. On Cruisin’, the late beatsmith’s sizzling synth grooves set the stage for hi-octane, whip-centric rhymes from the Big Apple underground mainstay. Complete with drops and cuts by previously-featured duo FKi, this joint isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, but fans can, of course, stay tuned for all the latest from Mickey Factz.
