Seven months after asking haters to kindly Hold [His] Dust on a reader-approved album inclusion, Motown rhymesayer Mike Melinoe makes his return to our front page with Wxxii, the latest single off his next indie full-length. Though I'm not sure what the title is referencing (or how it's supposed to be pronounced), the record's appeal is no mystery; Nolan The Ninja's gritty boom-bap beat drips with throwback appeal, and Melinoe turns in some of the most complex, tightly-wound bars I've heard in a hot minute.
