- Artist: MIMS
- Track: Life of a Star
- Producer: Blackout Movement
- Album: Guilt
While This Is Why I’m Hot and Like This became two of ’07’s biggest hits (the former being Capitol Records‘ first #1 hit in fifteen years), MIMS was busy preparing his sophomore album, Guilt, which is set to drop in March. In contrast to Move (If You Wanna) and Bread N Butter, which had more of a buzz/street single focus, the Washington Heights rapper’s latest record finds him ready to get back to crafting chart-smashing hits. Once again teaming up with Why I’m Hot producers Blackout Movement, MIMS lets listeners know how it feels to live the Life of a Star. As Red Rat picks up the autotune for the “put your glasses in the air” hook, the Blackout folks once again go minimal, yet percussion-heavy with the beat. Sticking to the formula that’s brought MIMS success thus far, Life of a Star should add another hit to the emcee’s growing résumé.
