Rabbi Darkside - See Something Say Something
- Artist: Rabbi Darkside
- Track: See Something Say Something
- Producer: Mista
- Album: Prospect Avenue
Ever since 2002, the MTA has been encouraging subway riders to report suspicious behavior with the slogan, “If you See Something, Say Something.” On his latest single, Rabbi Darkside does his duty as a New Yorker, speaking up about some sh*t he noticed that doesn't seem quite right. It isn't an unattended bag, or a sketchy-looking individual that's got the Brooklyn spitter concerned, though; it's the prevailing mood of paranoia and distrust in his home city. Backed by Mista's clattering boom-bap production, Darkside encourages NYC residents and other big-city denizens to resist the urge to stereotype and treat their neighbors like, well, neighbors: “Remember, suspicious is a state of mind / Try opening your eyes, and sayin'... 'Hi.'” Tafadzwa M. Chiriga directs the record's accompanying visuals. Fans will be able to find See Something, the previously-featured True Lies and much more on Rabbi Darkside's Prospect Avenue LP, available now via the artist's official site.
