I always liken being a producer to the offensive line of a football team. For both, you are often doing the dirty work, but rarely does the spotlight shine the brightest, which is almost always on the emcee/singer (the quarterback). Atlantic Records artist Ricky Blaze, who has produced cuts for Wiz Khalifa, Sean Kingston, and Santigold (whose Blaze-produced jam was featured in a Honda commercial), takes a break from manning the boards for others (although he did produce this track) to provide us with his latest effort, Kill Em. On the single, which features a swift, raspy 16 from Harlem veteran Jim Jones, Blaze displays his production prowess (blending a house-style beat with club-friendly undertones, included a clapping effect), as well as his skills on the mic with a high-pitched, catchy vocal performance. Gangnam Style this is not, but the song surely will lead to the hook being played on repeat in the back of your mind.
