Run the Jewels ft. Michael Winslow - Oh My Darling Don't Cry

Update: The Timothy Saccenti-directed visuals for Run The Jewels' Oh My Darling Don't Cry single has been added.

I could think of many adjectives to describe Run the Jewels, but “comforting” is definitely not one of 'em. So I was a little surprised to see that the duo's latest feature, released as part of Adult Swim's Singles Series, was titled “Oh My Darling Don't Cry.” Then I heard the opening lines (“F**k them all, they can eat my d*ck, word to Pimp.”) and I knew all was right with the world. Over his own production, a characteristically abrasive collage of chopped vocal samples, grainy synth-bass and jittery percussion, El Producto and partner-in-rhyme Killer Mike celebrate their return to kicking ass, murdering mics and generally annihilating the competition. Michael Winslow, the Police Academy cast member and "Man of 10,000 Sound Effects," tops the track off with some robotic backing vocals. In addition to being an entry in the aforementioned digital series, Oh My Darling will be featured on sophomore full-length RTJ2, which is scheduled for free release October 27.
