R.ythem N.athaniel B.lues - Breakthrough

DJBooth_logo2x

What's in a name? Sometimes nothing at all, but there are certain monikers that reveal quite a bit about their bearers. Like “Speed Racer,” or, say, "R.hythem N.athaniel B.lues." Referred to our site by Think About That collaborator D. Julien, the aptly-initialed artist is making his solo Booth debut with new single Breakthrough, a cut that sees the singer putting a fresh spin on a familiar R&B theme. Showcasing his soulful vocal stylings over a Capo Decina-produced beat that builds from Popcorn-style arpeggios to a dense, synth-scorching chorus, the artist describes the moment of clarity in which he made his mind up to leave a woman who treated him like trash. More of a victory march than a bummed breakup jam, this track is the perfect soundtrack for a dramatic exit. Simply flip it on, shoot your soon-to-be-ex a knowing look, and walk out the door with your head held high (be sure to play it on their equipment, though, since coming back a minute later to retrieve your iPod would probably ruin the moment).
