Spree Wilson ft. Esthero - Don’t Pass Me By
- Artist: Spree Wilson
- Track: Don't Pass Me By
- Producer: Esthero, Co-prod. Hot Sugar and Spree Wilson
- Album: The Never Ending Now
Let it not be said that restless creativity and eclecticism don't pay off; in late 2010, after years of innovation and numerous Booth-acclaimed features, ATL mainstay Spree Wilson finally got the break he was waiting for. Now that he's signed to Jive, you might expect the man to be popping bottles left and right, but the latest leak off Spree's major-label debut is a decidedly cozy, downtempo affair. Understated but poignant, Don't Pass Me By sees Esthero (with co-production by Wilson and Hot Sugar) blending soft guitar, string and bells into a warm backdrop for the headliner's reflections on the high hopes and insecurity that accompany a budding relationship. After Spree's opener, Esthero steps out from behind the boards to offer the female perspective (and showcase her luxurious vocal stylings) on the closing verse. Needless to say, love ballads this smooth and genuine don't come along every day. Those digging this uniquely fresh offering can find Pass Me By and much more on Spree Wilson's latest album, The Never Ending Now, set to hit store shelves and online retailers in February.
