Tha Advocate's Booth debut, 9678, was a nostalgia-laden look at late-'90s hip-hop that took old souls on a trip down Memory Lane but left a few new-schoolers cold. On his second feature, however, the emcee/producer's anchored firmly in the here and now, and he's teamed up with a fellow Jersey rapper, an ATL up-and-comer, and a representative of the Dutch underground to discuss the ins, outs, ups, and downs of their respective hoods. Where I Come From finds Advo doing double duty; as well as following Stat Quo's A-town-repping verse and Big Lou's vivid portrayal of Camden corruption with a warts-and-all portrait of his Essex County surroundings, he rejoins forces with 9678 collaborator Jeff Burna to craft a midtempo beat that erupts into brass-fueled fanfare when Holland's Mr. Probz delivers his gruff hook. In addition to appearing on his recently released, Stat Quo-hosted Digital Dynasty 6 mixtape, this cut will be included on the tracklist of Advo's forthcoming sophomore album, Designed To Be Signed.
