Most sane human beings view Black Out drunkenness as something to be avoided at all costs—leading, as it inevitably does, to regrettable behavior and absolutely brutal hangovers. Troy N?KA, however, isn't fazed by alcohol-induced amnesia. As long as he's surrounded by pretty girls when his hippocampus goes on the fritz, everything seems to turn out fine in the end. The follow-up to February's eclectically upbeat (and, judging by the DJBooth reader reviews, polarizing) Don't Fall, this cut is a similarly dizzying, dancefloor-ready mix of musical elements. T-Wiz (aka N?KA himself) reprises his role behind the boards, serving up a shapeshifting synth-percusison beat complete with a dubstep breakdown on the back. Accompanying Troy as he enjoys his liquor-soaked evening out, Don't Fall collaborator T. Coles (on handles the hook) and Booth-approved pop buzzmaker T. Mills, who invites a few fly honeys back to his place on the middle verse. Has Black Out earned a spot on your party playlist? More bangers await on Free Dreaming, released yesterday and available for free download from the headliner's official website.
