Village of Pharaohs - High Esteem

DJBooth_logo2x

As evidenced by the rave reviews the underground crew have garnered for their previous features, Hwy85 and Is It Love, North Carolina's Village of Pharaohs is a crew our readers hold in very High Esteem. Which makes it all the more dope that their latest single, whose title I cleverly worked into that last sentence, is an exclusive world premiere. On this reflective jam, Mayjah's mellow, headphone-ready production backs SkyHigh, MMA, I.V. League Verse and Wyze as they spit about their struggle to succeed despite life's myriad obstacles. Sky's opener, a reflection on growing up poor and fatherless, is especially poignant, as are vocals from Samaria Vyb. High Esteem is just one of many refreshing cuts sets for inclusion on full-length Pharaodysseus (1996 A.D.).

Update: We have added the K.D. Gray-directed visuals for VoP's High Esteem single.
