We were on hand at the DJ Expo in Atlantic City, NJ Earlier today to talk to the Rane people about their latest products. The newly announced Rane Seventy-Two Mixer and Twelve Turntable Controller are a reality. The Rane Seventy-Two mixer is a two channel battle mixer which looks like a Pioneer DJM-S9 with a screen in the middle and three Rane Magnetic faders. The Rane Twelve Turntable Controller is a solid all metal digital turntable that does not use a needle or tonearm for sound, but rather digital USB connections to work with Serato DJ. We were on hand at the DJ Expo in Atlantic City, NJ Earlier today to see all the new InMusic Brand products. While we were there we got to check out the new Numark DJ2GO2 compact Serato DJ Controller to see if this little device is good enough to play full DJ sets.
Gemini DJ has just announced a brand new all in one standalone DJ system with a built-in seven-inch screen and the ability to playback files using USB hard drives instead of a laptop. The Gemini SDJ-2000 will work with a music management software called VCase which will allow users to setup their music libraries, loops, and cue points similar to Pioneer's Rekordbox or Denon's Engine. The SDJ-2000 can also connect to additional Gemini MDJ-1000 units to share the same music library from a single USB source.
Today at the NAMM 2016 show, Numark DJ has released a brand new triple-screen device called the Dashboard which will allow users to connect it to any Serato DJ setup in order to view most of the valuable information DJ's need such as waveforms, track information, effects, and more. The Dashboard is pretty much like the Numark NS7III Controller screens that are attached to an adjustable stand and can connect to any Serato DJ controller or DVS setup that is out there.
It seems like every year, more products are being aimed at the mobile platform. Whether it is for the tablet market or the smartphone market, companies believe that a controller is what people want. This year, the people at Reloop are bringing a portable solution to this growing trend with their controller, the MIXTOUR for the popular mobile software djay. Today at the NAMM 2016 show, Denon DJ division announced their new flagship DJ controller called the MCX8000. This new monstrous DJ controller is sporting a solid metal chassis all around, dual hi-res screens for playback information, 16 RGB Backlit velocity sensitive performance pads, and full compatibility with Serato DJ when connected to a computer and Denon's Engine music management software so that DJ's can use this device without a computer.
In this newest version, the Numark NS7III has all the same features and layout of the NS7II controller we reviewed last year, but it also adds three new 4.3-inch full-color screens for full track and navigation information without the need to look at the laptop screen. The new Numark NS7III almost looks identical to the NS7II; except their is an additional panel attached to the top of the unit that holds the three screens in place. Numark also has the screens available as an add-on unit that attaches into the back of the NS7II for about $299. Check out this quick video released by Numark which explains the new Screen Array.

The DJM-S9 is like taking the classic DJM-909 mixer and a DDJ-S1 to give you all the Serato DJ goodness one could hope for. The Hercules DJ Control Jogvision has metal top jog wheels with LED indicators on them to make it easier to juggle, scratch, and cue the music without looking at the computer screen. Hercules has just released a new tutorial video that shows users how to cue and scratch using the new jog wheels and displays.

The school will use the new Hercules JogVision DJ controllers which work with Serato DJ and have really responsive Jog Wheels that also have LED rings in the center which show DJ's the current track needle position and other useful information.
