Holy Sh*t You Need To Hear Jay IDK’s “My Wallet” with Michael Christmas, Saba & Jimi Tents

The 2015 Best of the Booth Awards winner releases a new posse-cut in anticipation of his upcoming tape.

Following his super impressive 2015 release Subtrap, DJBooth Top Prospect and 2015 #BOTBAwards Best New Artist winner Jay IDK has been steady working on the follow-up, The Empty Bank.

Aside from having some incredibly provocative cover art, the sounds we’ve heard so far from the Maryland emcee have us more than excited for the upcoming release. Earlier today that hype hit a new level, however, with the release of the four-minute posse cut, “My Wallet,” featuring fellow former Top Prospects Michael Christmas, Saba, and Jimi Tents.

Seriously, holy sh*t, you need to press play...

The four emcees bounce effortlessly over the somehow simultaneously bare bones and dirty as hell instrumental, courtesy of The Watcherz and IDK, releasing nonchalant braggadocio over the track like frivolously dropped warheads.

Saba’s more aggressive flow is a welcome departure from the more relaxed, singsong delivery of some of his more recent appearances, while - if I’m not mistaken - listeners are treated to an unaccredited theatrical mini-outro by none other than Ab-Soul.

With The Empty Bank scheduled for release next Friday, September 9, "My Wallet" should have you reaching for yours.
