According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Future‘s fourth studio album EVOL, released in February via  A1 Recordings, Freebandz and Epic Records, has been certified Gold (500,000 units sold).

EVOL is the 18th RIAA-certified single or album of Future’s five-year career, all of which have come in the past 17 months. That total includes the album’s The Weeknd-assisted lead single, “Low Life,” which was certified Platinum earlier this month despite only peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

As the RIAA pointed out in their tweet this morning, EVOL is the fourth “hip-hop” album released in 2016 to receive either a Gold or Platinum certification. The other three are Drake’s Views (no surprise there), Kevin Gates’ Islah (shouldn’t be a surprise) and Zayn Malik’s Mind of Mine, which oddly fell into their ‘R&B/hip-hop program’ despite being neither hip-hop or R&B.

While most artists would call it a year after earning one RIAA certification, Future has no plans to slow down the final three months of 2016. According to producer Zaytoven, Future is slated to release a Drake-assisted single from Beast Mode 16 in the coming weeks.
