Throughout hip-hop history, a delicate balance has existed between the inherently dope and the incredibly cringeworthy.

Sure, struggle rappers everywhere are consistently tossing up ducks, but when a highly respected industry heavyweight spits a line that simultaneously makes you scratch your head and question your entire existence in a world where lines of such wackness could exist, the earth begins to feel like it’s completely off its axis.

Courtesy of guest blogger Flows Andolini, here are 13 of the most cringeworthy lines in rap history, complete with instant reactions and analysis.

Hold on for dear life.

J. Cole

Song Title: “Blow Up”

Line: “Aye Gary Coleman just passed, life is short”

J. Cole might be a good lyricist when he wants to be, but this was unbearably hard to listen to.

The Notorious B.I.G.

Song Title: “Me & My Bitch”

Line: “Ya look so good, huh, I suck on ya daddy’s dick”

This is the only time a song made me pause the track in confusion. I won’t ever love a woman that much.

Jay Z

Song Title: “Drunk In Love” (Beyoncé)

Line: “If I D’usśe so myself”

Product placement has become an important revenue stream in today’s modern marketing climate, but this is the worst product placement ever in rap.

Lil Wayne

Song Title: “Ghoulish”

Line: “His head up his ass, I’mma have to head butt him”

My only question for Wayne is, “Why?”

The Game

Song Title: “Dreams”

Line: “I woke up out that coma, 2001, bout the same time Dre dropped 2001

Someone close to The Game needs to break the news to him: Dr. Dre’s 2001 was released on November 16, 1999.

Canibus

Song Title: “Second Round K.O.”

Line: “You might have more cash than me, but you don’t got the skills to eat a niggas ass like me”

…………

Jay Z

Song Title: “It’s Hot (Some Like It Hot)”

Line: “.38 revolve like the sun around the earth”

I’m going to assume Jay meant the opposite but thought this sounded cooler. I hope.

Nas

Song Title: “Can’t Forget About You”

Line: “Unforgettable, unsubmittable/I go by N now, just one syllable”

They’re both one syllable, Nas.

Fabolous

Song Title: “You Be Killin Em”

Line: “Her feet killing her. I call it shoe-icide”

There are no words to describe this horrible line.

J. Cole

Song Title: “Dollar And A Dream III”

Line: “I let you feel like the shit but boy you can’t out-fart me”

I gave J. Cole credit earlier, but at this point, these type of lines need to stop.

Juelz Santana

Song Title: “Black Republicans”

Line: “Rock star, flier than an ostrich”

Unless ostriches evolve and learn flight in a matter of seconds, this cannot happen.

Freeway

Song Title: “Best@It” (Brother Ali)

Line: “We from two different cities, Minnesota and Philly”

Freeway must know of a distant future where the STATE of Minnesota becomes a city.

Jay Z:

Song Title: “Already Home”

Line: “I’m an animal; half man, half mammal”

Jay, humans are mammals, man.
