Rain Drop, Chart Top: Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” Is The #1 Song In The Country
It's only Monday (January 9), but Migos are already having an incredible week.
To earn their first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 record, Quavo, Takeoff and Offset had to unseat Rae Sremmurd, whose own meme-propelled single, "Black Beatles," spent seven nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1. In addition to being the first No. 1 record of Migos' five-year career, "Bad and Boujee" is also the first No. 1 single achieved by both their record labels—300 Entertainment and Quality Control.
As if national exposure at an awards program being broadcast to millions on NBC and a No. 1 record weren't enough, according to The FADER, as of 9 a.m. EST this morning, "Bad and Boujee" received a 243% increase in Spotify streams over the same time period a week ago. To date, the song has been streamed 62 million times on the streaming service, while YouTube views are at 94 million and rising.
On January 27, the group will release their second full-length studio album, Culture. Don't be surprised if a second hit single is busy working its way up the charts by the time their drop date arrives.
