During an appearance on the Rap Radar Podcast last October, veteran A&R Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua confirmed that Nas' next full-length album—despite what DJ Khaled says—was indeed not yet done.

Six months have passed since that interview and, while Nas has been heavily involved with Netflix's The Get Down as the series' executive producer, all has remained quiet on the new Nas album front. (Although, a new Gil Scott-Heron-inspired song entitled "Angel Dust" from The Get Down season two soundtrack did leak earlier today.)

Until today.

Speaking with Billboard about Mass Appeal's partnership with WeWork, Nas was asked for an update on the album, to which he replied, "It’s not done till it hits the streets."

So, when will it hit the streets? According to the veteran emcee, the plan is to release the still-untitled album before the end of 2017.

While we're not sure we believe him—rap albums and empty promises have long been bedfellows—we'll keep our fingers crossed. You should do the same.
