These Numbers Prove Post Malone is a Commercial Powerhouse

The Dallas native entered the charts last December with 'Stoney' and hasn't vacated them since.

Post Malone is a powerhouse.

According to his label, Republic Records, Malone's debut, Stoney, has been a top 10 streaming album for 38 consecutive weeks, which dates back to its release on December 9, 2016.

In April, we reported that Stoney had reached one billion global streams across all on-demand platforms. In the five months since we published that story, the Dallas native has reached three billion global streams, making him the most streamed "new" artist over the past year.

Furthermore, four songs from Stoney have been certified Platinum or multi-Platinum by the RIAA, including the Quavo-assisted smash single “Congratulations” (5x Platinum), “White Iverson” (4x Platinum), “Go Flex” (Platinum), and “Too Young” (Platinum).

Based on stream and digital purchase metrics from Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and iTunes, Malone is currently the 82nd most popular artist in the world—more popular at the moment than 21 Savage (87), Gucci Mane (97) and Migos (104). 

This past February, we predicted that "Congratulations" would become a hit record based on the song's early numbers; seven months later, it's the only rap record to remain on the Billboard Hot 100 for more than 30 weeks.

Malone kicked off his Stoney tour last evening in Boston. It will run through the end of October, with Smokepurrp serving as a special guest.
