When I see a title like “The Manifesto,” I expect a record that encapsulates everything you need to know about an artist’s sound, style and philosophy. That’s a tall order when it comes to a complex emcee like Bryant Dope. Nonetheless, this mixtape single is the perfect track for curious heads looking to get familiar with the Queens representative. Over Mike Device and SXMPLELIFE’s head-noddable production, the artist offers a concise, yet accurate self-summary: “I’m just a kid who loves music.” Tim Duerig directs the accompanying visuals.
