A.J. Crew ft. G-Scott - Y.F.U.

A.J. Crew

A.J Crew’s new single, Y.F.U, is an acronym for “You F**kin’ Up”, but after one listen its clear that he isn’t the one who might need the help. Crew not only contributes two charismatic verses, but he also demonstrates his skills behind the boards. The eclectic production features samples of John by Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, as well as Harry Chapin’s famous’ Cats In The Cradle. While the record is sample heavy, the Chicago emcee/producer properly splices things together, making the beat sound wholly original despite its borrowing of others’ work. Joining Crew is fellow Midwesterner G-Scott, who is wrapping up recording on new album 1983 (available on DJBooth in January). Scott, like Crew, has a style all his own, which includes an F-bomb heavy verse that stays true to the song’s explicit nature. Y.F.U can be will be placed on Crew’s forthcoming, but currently unscheduled album new The Reality Of It All.
