Alice Russell - For a While

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
TM Juke
Album:
To Dust

Just last evening I saw that Alice Russell was on tour. Naturally, as a fan of her music, I checked around to see if she had anything new brewin’. Sadly, my search was unsuccessful, but fortunately I didn’t have to wait For a While to hear from her. Literally hours later, the UK native unleashed her latest single. Russell has a reputation for putting on an awesome live show, but For a While proves that her excellence begins in the recording studio. Over TM Juke’s funky, minimalist beat—you don’t need much when Alice is singing—Russell displays her trademark raw soul sound. Her feathery, unique delivery gives the song an interesting, textured feel, perfect for repeat listens. Impressed? For a While and Alice’s last feature, Heartbreaker, can both be found on her To Dust LP, out now.
