Aloe Blacc - The Man

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
DJ Khalil
Album:
Lift Your Spirit

Let it be known: Aloe Blacc is The f**king Man. There’s not need to take my word for it, though. The singer isn’t shy about proclaiming it on his current hit single, which has just received the visual treatment courtesy of Matty Barnes. On this anthemic jam, DJ Khalil‘s stirring brass fanfare accompanies the singer as he celebrates his triumph over the obstacles in his path: “Somebody told me that life is a test / I’ve been through the worst, but I did my best.” On the chorus, he subtly borrows from Elton John’s 1970 ballad, Your Song. Feeling it? You’ll be able to find The Man and much more on the upcoming re-release of Aloe’s Lift Your Spirit LP, set to hit record stores and online retailers March 11.
